Thanks for the info Don. Pics are a couple years old. Have a multitude of different eyes here. However I am not smart enough to pick birds with eyes to mate together. For best results. Did try it. But have to rely on basics. Consistent pigeons, consistent management. Seems to me that regardless of new feed, theories, etc, it is the family of birds that perform regardless of other factors. Family I say because there is no such thing as a pure strain. The one preponent sire or dam in a loft can make a fancier much money if advertised right. It is a never ending quest. Usually in Europe but world wide now. Old strains. If I remember correctly the fanciers in the UK used to fly Orkney, Shetland islands and other way out places. On beans and wheat. Tough birds. I doubt if they fly those courses now. Not sure. But the sport has evolved and the majority want the faster races. So that is were the money and prestige is. I do not begrudge them. One flies for ones own satisfaction. That is the way it should be.
