Quite a lot of interest over here in Canada and the US. Folks importing them from Taiwan. So. You band your birds with the ring. Send it training or racing. On arrival you download the data. Now you can see where it has been and what route it took. This is after the fact of course. If not the route you want the pigeon to travel home, how do you get it to deviate next time? One can send a pigeon but not steer it in flight. Worth the cost? Personally I doubt it. But according to fanciers buying them, it should really forward the sport. But maybe I am missing something here? First bird home is what I want, do not give a crap were it has been sight seeing!

I think in the future if handled correctly Hal, Pigron Racing could be massive on the gambling scene if punters could watch their backed bird coming home via a live link. Especially in Asia, but I think there would be massive interest over here, I think due to the unpredictability of Mother Nature, ie Raptors and weather and other things like which route around towns and mountain ranges. I think it would be very exciting.

Imagine if you’d all pooled a pigeon from Thurso and there was 10 different line you could follow there could could be lots of banter, especially if one is way out in front and then it stops to roost or for a drink. There would be lots of debate on social media if a bird stops, ie has it been predated, hit something or stopped for a drink. Some bird may be way out in front but decide to fly the long way around a belt of rain, where another pigeon may decide to plod through it to win the race.

Check out Hsls previous posts he has shown U-tube links with it working, it’s really interesting seeing the different routes taken by the same lofts birds when singled up.
