help needed for canker please...

hi, friend of mine in goole has canker in his ybs and is finding it hard to get rid of, and suggestions please?

If he has tried different types of canker treatment best to see a vet about the situation

If he do everything , wich is neccesary for treating canker,
dry loft , no contaminated water or food, he could try some medicine for resistant strains of canker CANKEREX PLUS.
It depend on what he has tried already, then i would agree with don
Oh before i forget , he must be 100% sure his problem is canker.

hi, back again....he has used spartix tabs and tkk in water but this hasnt done anything.
it is the soft yellow type in the corner of the beak which is easy to get out but grows back.....he tells me the birds are ok in themselfs and he is trying them onflagyll tabs which has cured two of them but took weeks to do....

David always used spartix tablets never had any problem at all

one thing ive been thinking is how long has he had it, maybe had it a while and its gone untreated ???? would this make any difference?

Removing all grit and minerals when treating is essensial, for effective treatment, like chanco said.
Beware of chlorinated tap water also, as chlorine could render treatment ineffective.

I dont think it matter how long they have it, the treatment should fix it.

Another thing, if he has treated before , with same medicine, could have build a resistance against that medicine, need to use other medication with different main ingredient
One should always switch between at least two different types, eg metridazole, and ronidazole
I think one should consider that with most treatments.

I Have 7 Spartix Tablets And A Tub Of calcium , Some Powder To Put In Water And Some stuff For Infection Should Sort My Birds out if Anything Goes Wrong

glyn your going to need a lot more than a couple of tablets and some powder to keep your pigeons fit and well for racing , it is exg pensive and time taking not to be taking lightly ,
