yes daz, they soon mount up.....I started with 6, got quite a lot more now.....the mrs thinks ive got around 20

Always keep them in the dark David     I suggest etc to a degree. My other half here  actually writes my entry sheets out for me "which I'm most thankful for" but when she asks what do I place in the dollar section as such I say don't bother with that bit, as I can manage all that part OK thank you.

You know, most don't realise that 'Old Birds' can also b flown on the Dark System'. However, overall I believe that an 'Open Loft' can't be beaten.

I'm with you Daz, better for pigeon, better for fancier, open loft every time, would not have raced pigeons any other way, bad for fanciers pocket very bad for pigeons health.

Daz I have had our feathered friends since 7 years old, only a couple of breaks but for unavoidable reasons.

Some 76 years so I know how you feel, I also thought about having a dozen or so just for old times sake and they could well have almost looked after themselves but at our age anything can come along and leave the pigeons as the responsibility of another.

Look out daily for the past few years hoping for an old friend to be there.

The loft is still there and has 16 perches in one end as a reminder of happier days.

But sense prevails and we can be very certain of one thing, we have experienced the best years that will never be repeated.

yes I agree don, good post misty............be nice if an old friend or two did come home.

True Misty, and some great memories. Highs and lows Misty, by and large very few I would discard. Which brings me back to another answer I will post on 'Eyes and Watching'.

Bit out of touch with the in's & out's etc David here. But are we heading to have 4 more birds again here entered as last year as such & also just curious where the 2nd pair may just be coming from so to speak if the pair kindly supply the first two for our bunch of misfit types .

yes hopefully we will be able to enter 4 again knackered, 2 from Darren again if he and the rest of the members are in favour......and 2 from some other source .
