| No they muck around with the old birds if you have a young cock mucking aroud with a leave it like that it may do some good but my personal way I would not let them bring up a youngster some do but I dont do it |

| Always had a few hens in with the youngbirds as soon as the young cocks start to show signs of getting mature, this is were the hens play there part |

| hi don, a spare yearling hen ive put in with older ybs has picked a mate for herself........the young cocks interested and is more or less paired to her so if i can get them to be on eggs for racing it might spur him on to get home quick....... altho i have widowhood boxes in the secrtion i might try some sort of yb widowhood....? |

| Yes, but if you race this cock to this hen it may be a love pairing so the best thing i would say is make sure you have this hen for him everytime
Tom Ashmore in Old Hill raced a pigeon called the Champ he won the Racing Pigeon Sprint Catagory, but to get him to win when the money was on or if he needed that little bit extra, Tom would place the same old hen which HE paired to as everytime and doing this was the difference between winning the club and Fed |
