Mr & Mrs D Reed also cleaned up in the breeder buyer taking all 3 prizes, and also 1st leeds and district amalgamation, (44 members sent 831 birds )
well done Mr & Mrs D Reed and all in the results Well done also to all there concerned etc. Funny/tragic/sad thou maybe David when comparing maybe those type of numbers in birds & members to the general past as such I suggest. Numbers & flyers flying now here in many local clubs a total embarrassment now I'm unfortunately. |

| had a read through your club results david, and the racing has been quite evenly spread out amongst your members, with different members having success instead of just the same one every week.
looks like a decent club, how many members do you have ? |

| Me thinks, as I have said many times, in the results it should include how many each member sends, gives a more reasoned accessment.

We had 3 well established clubs in our area, there were a few dual memberships but at least 100 fanciers were involved, and when the railways stopped transporting at times fanciers were limited to how many they could basket. The one I flew in bought their own HQ with a flat above which was rented out. Today the HQ has been sold and the club folded another club also folded and we now have one club with less than 20 members. As I have said elsewhere, reults in the BHW show entries in some clubs as low as ONE. Tis obvious that with all the technology now available and many different opportunities for the youngsters to participate in our sport will have far more competition for youngsters spare time. Pity because it offers far more than ups, downs, highs, lows but also great satisfaction than looking into a I Pad 24 hoursa day. Regards. |

| luckily our club has had an influx of new members over the last couple of years , we opened the radius to one and a half miles which allowed local fanciers who normally were just outside the radius to get in ..........i think that if we hadnt done this our club would have been finished in the next year or so.
the new members are doing well racing, and making it more competitive , its actually quite a good club now .. |

| no george i havnt raced for years, i think the last time i sent birds was around 5 - 6 years ago to a couple of young bird races .......i keep thinking of having a proper go at it but because i breed young birds every year to sell on the internet i cant do both, and do both justice, i think if i was to race i`d have to devote all my time on racing and not breeding to sell . |

| ive sold young birds on the internet every breeding season, for the last 5 -6 years, maybe more ........and in that time they have never failed to sell, this year i bred and sold 140 young birds, but i think its quite hard to sell older birds on there, never tried it but i think it would be hard .
young birds sell easy because the buyer can race them, plus it saves some of them breeding their own, plus also there are some fanciers who just cant breed a decent young bird. |
