How’s the breeding going

they certainly do george, my food bill has gone up again with these 20 + ybs .....i`ll need to go for corn saturday without fail .

2 babies hatched today, and rung 8 more .......happened to ring a yb not in order so had to take the ring off and put the right one on

do you get any David were one is so much bigger than the other had it to-day 2 ready to ring one was a real struggle

Happens often here etc George when the hen sits hard on the first egg, more of a problem for you thou I'm with so few stock birds there apparently to then swap the youngsters around if required to maybe even the size factor up in the nest scenario. End of the day 2 day start hard to counter on average in the same nest I found with how they tend to grow so fast in the first 5/6 days before ringing.

Only ever interfered with eggs when moving stock birds eggs in the early years to feeders.

Never attempted to save poor chicks, based on the fact that in all probability they were lacking something and not willing to waste time finding out.

Never on average thought of them as poor chicks etc Misty 2 day start can be a wee bit of a burden at times. Bit like maybe, someone having a 20 metre start in a 100 metre sprint type race .

2 more hatched, rough guess is 26 ybs in the nest, 2 will be ready for a local fancier this week, and hoping ill have some for elimar .......

my 2 ybs for olr will be taking the Wednesday unable to get good photos  of them more than pleased how they handle

sire was bred by Tom Sweeney from Liverpool it was injured in his last race he ask me to collect it had a damaged wing told me the breeding i was only too pleased to keep him

dam David bred by Pete Davenport bought from rpra final as a cock Pete sent me a hen with 2x2nds 0ne 3rd and a 4th in club racing to pair to him was clear it was a hen so had 2 hens bred by Pete

All appear in good nick to me George, as do all your pigeons.

Let us hope they get a fair run of the race.

Looking good George hope they do ok in the olr for you the pictures of the two old birds look really nice birds my self paired the stock birds on Monday and the race team today let them sort them self’s out might have them out tomorrow

the dark checker is from the grizzle and blue ch  maybe i should be breeding more from my own birds one yb has gone out from him this year

this yb is same way bred just the one yb this year

I've noticed this before; single reared YB's still associate with their siblings even though they never see each other till weaning off. These 2 were single reared yet within a couple of days they have been inseparable. I got more pairs behave exactly the same not a co-incidence.

These blues single reared never seen each other till put over, again never apart. They just know their brother/sister automatically......
