How’s the breeding going

Lovely day here cocks and hens calling to each other through the wires in the aviaries told them another few weeks

another few weeks mark ....... the ybs will be latebreds

only joking, ive 20 rung but i think ill pair later next year, i dont think its a good idea pairing when its cold ......

thought of the old days mid March when reading the post

Everything going to plan. Ybs all over the place . 4 tomorrow then lots more in about a week ...about 50 plus I would say

i used to pair up first saturday in february , i might go back to that next year .......

Think you would make a good OL manager.

How many youngsters will you breed in total and how many do you usually keep as yearlings ?.

Think if reducing by a lot some will be potential good racers.

Hope all the hard work pays off and no snags with the racing programme.

yb i was never happy with had a really good look at it and found it could not put ang weight on one leg so just have the 2 ybs weaned and 2 in the nest am going to have a good look at 2 nests sure eggs are blank

no more eggs hatched here , 20 ybs rung in the nest and eggs in the bowls ........im hoping i have a pair of ybs ready for our april breeder buyer sale .

i'm not able to get down to these 2 ybs as they are too far back  have to take a photo every few days would members clean out the nest and put ybs in a nest bowl closer to the front

i think i`d leave them as they are george, droppings look good.....if you clean it out and move them it could upset the natural balance of things and upset them , they might be coming out of the nest all over the floor, at prey of attack by other pigeons .

no way i can get down to handle them David 9 days old to-day one same way bred culled it yesterday

i`d just leave them george, they are rung and being fed, they are doing fine ....

George I would just leave them they look fine and in good condition which is shown in the droppings being firm and not watery

just first yb of them i had to cull

just thrown two more cold eggs away, i think thats about eight so far, not too bothered if im honest, they will lay again.

might have been a mistake pairing up earlier than normal.

i have 2 pairs David will wait till they leave the eggs

i give up 2 pairs one pair nest on the perch one pair on the floor3 nest boxs free

Ybs look brilliant as long as the dreadful yb sickness doesn't appear

i never took much notice of yb wing when weaned for some reason the new cross wing seems different impressed i was

this hen first round one egg not very clean this round 2 clean eggs if blank will slip 2 eggs under her

Always thought the pigeons knew what was best and as long as it was not too disruptive to the loft let them get on with it.
