hi all ive been giveing a all black cock bird for next season and im woundering if i paired him up to a blue hen would i get any blacks from them or would i need to find a black hen .....he is a extreame 1400 miles the bloke told me

me neither phil, are you sure you heard the man correctly....? re the colour, yes i would think he could breed a black if put to a blue hen.....every so many ybs could be black.

phil, if you pair your black to a blue im sure you will get a certain % of blacks from them.....just the same as if you had paired a cheq to a blue.

I know of the 1000 mile strain in scotland the lionheart strain

you will have heard of the pigeons that john/stormqueen has wont you don....they are from his uncle and are ritchie and whyte birds who had the famous bird stormqueen which are proven long distance birds which flew into scotland.........john still has birds now with the stormqueen blood in them.

The bird I said was my faviourite I was told on tuesday that that bird is a decendent of stock the person had had for years and years still the same bloodline as it was

i know a fancier who bought some janssens in 1986 and has still got the blood from them in his loft, he has never introduced any different birds so the family remain pure......and are still winning. Very Happy
