has anyone bred a brother and sister togeather ? what did the ybs race like ? ive read about father and daughter , mother to son.... is cousins too closely related to breed from ? or uncles and aunties ?

I have, but not from same nest, older brother with younger sister, same mom and dad, They both did exellent racing , so i paired them, their chics were perfectly normal, breed 2 out of 6,wich were exellent babies from them. Very Happy

niel, i bred brother and sister togeather, not through choice mind you ...and they bred a very nice yb so im waiting to see how it races as i bred it for someone else to race this season. Very Happy

David show racers are for looking at, and they never come out of the loft for exercise

you always find that show birds look a lot fatter than raqce birds

ian, the hen i had paired up to a spare w/hood cock and bred a yb off them, i raced the yb and although it was always late it did manage to get home.....cant remember what eventually happened to it.... lol!

wonder if they were originally bred from good looking racers bred togeather and then just breeding for looks....?over generations it might have produced good looking birds that cannot race as by selective breeding racing has been bred out of them....???

yes heard of him don, ive read some articles and in fact i have some old pictorials from the 70s where he is in them with his loft and birds....i prefer these old pictorials to the new ones out now ......
