| It's like owt though Don, selling racing pigeons is a cut throat business. Louella at one point was the leader in selling pigeons priced for the working man. But now you can see that the standards are dropping and surely they can see this from their sales. But they are not on the ball these days, they should have thrown caution to the wind and bought all the Jannsen pigeons, this would have breathed new life back into Louella as a stud. Once upon nearly everyone was happy with their service and the birds they purchased. But lately sadly this is not the case. It's a great shame, because it was started by such a great man. |

| i agree gary, we bought some good pigeons in the 80`s from louella, but it seems more and more i read posts complaining about the quality and ealth of the pigeons purchased from there.........i think your also right about them buying the janssen birds, it would have breathed new life into the buiseness, and im sure a lot of other top studs in the uk should have done too.
now when they claim to own the best, and only buy the best, it doesnt ring true does it when they never bought the originals being sold does it.... |

| were i agree and disagree with a lot that has been said i look at it you are buying some of these birds at what i call pet shop prices is it some at 6 birds for £99 you can't do that with the overheads they have . if you have them and only breed of them you then have 3 generations of that not only have not been tested but probably have not even flown outside a loft i beievethat to buy from the best club member may only be 2 birds for your £100 but then you will have a trusting relationship which becomes priceless george |

| i am thinking of going over to louella next season to have a look at buying 6 youngsters possibly jan aarden or at least distance orientated. i wouldnt let them send me 6 without checking them all first though. I like the pigeon Invincible dettorri and would like a cock from it possibly to pair to a daughter of Kezie (1st Open NRCC Kings Cup for Frank bristow) |

| I have a delbar hen from louella I bought a few years ago, it bred me a winner 2 years ago, however I bought it when I just started back as I needed birds and used it as a widow hen...its up for grabs to a good home as Im scaling down my prisoners, pay postage and its yours and like I said its bred me 1 winner and several good birds but I mostly have sprinters and janssens so not in my future plans. |

Martyn that is a top quality eye mate a typical janssen eye, for me if you could find a green eye to pair to it then that for me would be the perfect pair mate |

David i would say more dual purpose mate for me a dominante breeding eye with plenty of depth would bring the best out of this pigeon But i am not saying it is not good because it is |

Glad you agree Martyn as long as there is loads of dust then this will help bring the best out of this pigeon But still a quality eye mate, and yes the cost with that type of eye would be high fron Ponderosa Good luck with him anyway |
