Don sometimes the old ways are the best mate Wink

a fancier on another site has asked about wet feeders in the stock loft, believe me you wont get them if you follow this tip. I did PM him to let him know. another guy suggested putting a pot of salt in the shed, I think Dave Allen also said about it, but it's not for me, twofold really, the birds will gorge on it, and it attracts so much damp, it clogs in the pot, and that cant be good

I'd like to see replies to anyone trying it this year

The only thing i would use a pot of salt for is to see if the loft in damp and if the environment is right the salt would be the same as when it came from the pot first time

unless your loft has central heating then the salt will draw the moisture out of the air so what will this prove don please enlighten me

I'm not so sure, sorry, salt draws water from the atmoshere, as far as I'm aware, and will draw water wherever it's placed, sure it will draw more from an open loft, but I think it will from a closed loft also, that's why I don't leave grit in front of the birds also JMO

If you have a good ventilated loft then you can use the salt test to see how the loft environment is
