| alright all ... with it been me first year raceing yb i was going to fly to open door but ive just been given a small trapper would i be better trying it or to open door ... and then putting trapper on and learn them ... |

| use the trap much easier and you will not have to catch you birds phill and frighten them |

| hi phil, i personally will be flying to open door as this is what ive done in the past......i suppose if they get used to a trap it would be just as good so each to their own i suppose..... |

| ok david well i was gifed it any way so might just give it ago as ray says it might make things easy and will try to learn them to it .... |

| stall traps are easy phil because they catch the bird as they go in so you can just take the rubber off then you press a lever undernieth and the bird goes into the loft........all very good but i think i prefer the open door...... |

| i think the birds will get used to the open door if after exercise they are allowed to go in and out through the door.......cant go in and out through the stall trap in the same way. |

| everyone told me to do open door for first year but with lad giveing me the trap i just thought about it |

| yes phil, just put it on the loft and see how they do......you can always still use open door if you need to cant you....... |

| then trap thro open door phil but make sure you have a sliding door inside so you can close this when you follow pigeon in dont want it coming backout before you get the rubber off |

| phil, try have them as tame as you can.....spend time with them in the loft and try get them used to being caught and handled if you can, it would all help i would emagine.......do you give peanauts ? ive been going to use them for the past year or so but will make sure i do this year for the yb racing...... |

| no i havent trye nuts going to with yb and im going to try and get them as tame as poss and use to been caught ... i alreay have aviry doors on the loft |

| steve, how do you give them to your birdsw....? whole or chopped up.....? have had some for quite a while but looked at them the other day and didnt like the look of them so they were only about 65 pence from asda ill just buy some new ones as by what ive heard they are very good for taming the birds..... |

| no much better whole dont be too soft if you feed beans in your mix do you chop them up there about the same size i have always give my dirds peanuts ,whole |

| only just started feeding peanuts to old birds whole will be giving y/bs whole ian, wasnt sure if too big at first |

| steve they will be fine i get the one from asda for human consumption the darker red skins are best dont like the pale ones |

| i threw 2 pkts away, got them from pet shop for wild birds was told not good for pigeons so got some from local tesco |
