| just looking at widowhood cocks tonight notice one looked in really good condition ie, mascarer around the eyes down in box ,spinning around ,when i examined him noticed his keel has yellow tinge to it not the normal white has anybody came across this , and what is it ,is it a problem , |

| When you want to know if a bird is in condition, you look at the keel. You want it to be perfectly white, with no discoloration. If pigeon has as any tinges of yellow or orange on the breast bone, it is hurt; it needs a rest. Don't send it. |

| ian, ive heard when a bird is in condidtion it gets blood stpot type things...along the keel like a blood blister is the only way i can describe it....maybe wrong but its what ive heard. |

| What i meant by hurt, is that he is still recovering from a training toss or race, he recently had, as far as i know the blood spot on the keel is a sign of condition, depending where the spot is the more down on the keel, the better the condition. |

| we never raced that sort of distance ian as far as i can remember, it was mostly inland racing......maybe possibly channel but not as far as yours. |
