| can any ouf the members say what they are feeding their young birds on, ive still got mine on breed and wean but am planning on changing this before racing starts, what do other members think to a young bird no maize mix, or maybe a different high protein mix.
or do they need maize/ carbs ? |

| I'm feeding mine 2/3 natural all round mix with 1/3 barley I give them a small amount of diat in the morning for breakfast so they've got a bit of energy when I let them out in the evening. I let them out at about 7pm til 8pm. |

| I bought some decent barley from Vaux brothers, seems decent stuff.....mixed it 50 / 50 with all round but the birds seem to leave the barley, maybe they arnt hungry...? or maybe too much % of barley ...?
or do they need to get used to it gradually ...? |

| diet is a premix of grains that will do just what it says, i.e. they dont put weight on, but in my oppinion good barley does the same job less than half the price, hope this helps |

pretty expensive when a 25 kg bag of decent barley is £6 |

yes a percentage nothing like a widow mix though I don't like the no maize mixes always seem far too heavy and I don't have the room for storing corn and messing about mixing them or toning them down |
