| Hi - this request is from Phil's wife Hil.
Does anyone have any tips on cleaning nest box grilles please? We have tried the standard white ones that David kindly sent. We also have some grilles which are a bit bigger, chunkier and grey (the ones that come with the 'snap off' feet from Rings for Wings in Belgium), and we also have some others that are black and thinner with square 'holes', and came from either Boddy and Ridewood, or Pallats or somewhere like that.
And they are all very difficult to clean!
Thanks Hil |

| get a ashbin fill with a bottle of sterilising fluid and soak them in the bin for a few hours, drinkers, feeders, grit feeders etc all go in at separate times I have a bin full of water and fluid all year round changed twice per week just before I do the drinkers ...I like the black grills best I have these they are easier on the birds feet |

| Hi guys
Thanks very much for your advice. However, I don't think I explained my problem properly!
We already do what you suggested, ie, the cleaning in water/bleach etc, when we remove the grilles.
However, Phil has built a section under the V perches in the racing hens loft to catch the droppings, and we have put Versele-Laga 'cat litter' in it, and grilles on top to stop the pigeons standing in it. These are the grilles I have trouble cleaning every day, along with the grilles in all the nest boxes in the racing and stock lofts.
Thanks in advance! Hil |

Easy, easy from my perspective etc O/S & as Mark said, grills can be a real pain in the butt type of thing. Cheers. |
