| Good read thanks for posting.
Doesn't keep many but importantly doesn't lose many. Tried and tested birds bred at the loft over many, many generations, makes you think do these YB's bred at this loft have a superior homing ability? Naturally ingrained through ancestry of a colony from the same loft homing to the same loft for many years.
Compare that to a lot of UK pigeons raced today: Cock from Belgium, never seen outside the shed who's parents came from Holland, paired to a Hen from Holland who's parents came from Germany and Belgium perhaps, again never flown out. Where is the YB's natural instinctive home if indeed that is a factor and why we have so many YB losses. |

| Apparently there are no secrets to winning. Basically sound stock and good management. |

| you don't need loads of pigeons around you to win ...dedication and health and understanding of feed will see you do well oh and a slice of luck |

| Pure hard work and obviously good birds. You won't get poor birds to win no matter how hard you work with them . You will improve them but not win |

| I believe if you can/could improve a bad bird 20% then you will also improve a good bird the same. |
