well the one loft racing is over for 2021, and in my opinion it was a shambles from start to finish.....was it down to loft management, or was it down to weather conditions, or was it just simply a bad season like so many club racing has been ...? i for one am very disappointed in this years one loft, and for one will not be considering entering again in 2022, we have had a good few years entering one lofts but i think this years was the final nail in the coffin for the forum syndicate.

i must say thank you and well done to darren for breeding our ybs to enter, you and your birds did us proud .......

members thoughts please ....?

To befair Jerramy had a task far beyond the capabilities of anyone to keep even a small percentage of that number of pigeons in the loft healthy, at any time a number, choose how healthy they LOOKED would have one problem or another.

Also flock treatment may help some and be detrimental to others.

Cannot see any real motivation to get back fast unless hungry.

Think all the short tosses useless.

First one should make them have to think.

Mainy sent all my young birds to first race with NO TRAINING.

On North Road the odd training toss was Redcar, the first race point.

Pigeons do not need to be shown the way home, all they need is the means and motivation, too many performances over the years to prove a pigeon can navigate from, and in inclement weather, many miles in attrocious weather to warrent exessive training, all they need to be is fit to domso, but thefact is there are very few realy naturally healthy pigeons, the majotity need treatmet as a matter of course, THEY ARE NOT WHAT THEY USED TO BE ???????.

Regards.

Can understand your frustration oldstrain, goes without saying appreciate all you have done for the syndicate, but once in the OL you have no control.

Although give credit to those that make it, how many were ruined along the way.

On reflection  a OL does not give a true reflection of the quality of the participants too many imponderavbles involved.

We did well to have two in the final, many did not even reach the first stages.

Thanks  oldstrain.

Regards.

how anyone can cope with 1,500 ybs is beyond me, yes he has helpers, but with that amount of pigeons there has to be a certain percentage of illness among them......and treating them must be a nightmare, but that aside, the logic behind training / racing has to be re thought in my opinion, yes they need the numbers to make it worth while, to pay the prize money, to pay the staff, and even make the rpra a proffit, but i think they need a big re think on the whole one loft thing .

been thinking about this one loft from start to finish, and i remember videos of loads of pigeons just sat around on the loft roofs, or on the grass pecking around, whilst some were exercising around the loft........well i got to thinking that when training started many of the pigeons would not have even been up exercising properly around the loft, only to be taken 4 - 5 miles away, no wonder so many were lost .

Get yourself into trouble David Smile Smile Thinking Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes bit like being Curious in nature type of thing Wink Wink Your right thou with what you say bounce bounce sadly, as it's been my major gripe here right from my first experience with our race. Sooner certain people Smile Smile twig, the name of the game is racing as such & not simply homing Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes if your lucky Wink Wink the better off things will be in a pigeon sense there I suggest. Now Very Happy Very Happy read the bit about the first bird/winner there being black in nature bounce bounce so if you like lol! lol! lol! I'm happy to send a bunch of my crows over now, to maybe give Jeremy something different to ponder over Smile Smile & possible be the next flavour of the month type of thing there in a racing sense Wink Wink. cheers
