| Hi Don, thats the best reason to be out of the sport for a while. They grow so quick, your doing the right thing mate. Family first. I bet as soon as your son ( name please ) is ready, he'll be at the loft with you. And no buying he a scraper for his birthday eaither When your ready to start again, like David id be only to pleased to help you out with some young birds, if you like. |

| Must say i have known top flyers who have worked and have now retired and spend more time with there pigeons
Having more time with there pigeons has made there results reduce in numbers and they say this is becauce when they worked they had limited time with there birds and the pigeons were better for it
If you can get the balance between pigeons a family life you am on your way to a good life |

| funny you should say that don, the other day a local fancier who comes round to see me every few weeks or so told me that when he retired he thought he would have more time with the birds, but he said he has even less time with them now....... |

| yes, hes a decent bloke but i think he and some others have lost a bit of incentive as its always the same fanciers who win every week and i think they are a bit disheartened by it..... |

| yes ian your right, i bred a few ybs for fanciers this year hoping to get an idea of if they will race ok or if i need to invest in new stock before i start next season......ive not heard much of how they have done so far so its not looking too good i dont think. i know the highest prize winner in the local midweek club is packing in and having a clearance sale at the end of the season so i might take a trip along and have a look....... |
