just checked the weather forcast for line of flight for our birds from poole tomorrow, although its dry and clear it is going to be a very strong westerly wind, all it will do is put my birds in to Norfolk, then they will have a hard fly to get across the wash and back up the coast to me, so at this moment in time I don't think I will bother this week ? , but will check it again later to see if it changes.

Not send if in doubt leave them in the loft better to have them for another week than chance them on a iffy forecast.

For what it is worth - I think you have made the right decision edgie - better safer than sorrier!  There is always next week and it may be perfect for you then.

I have just let my y/bs out for a quick fly.  We have trees around us, on one side - when they got over them, they almost stood still for a couple of seconds.  Very Strong winds here.

Give your birds a day off and enjoy your Sunday.

the decideing factor for me to not send was. it did not look like a lot of birds were going, so there was talk of taking them to poole in the back of a transit van at least a 4 hour journey with not enough air, n scratch ot for me thanks

Left mine home this weekend etc Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes as I didn't like the forecast here. All went belly up for me sadly, as they shifted the race point 100 miles to the west of where they should have been & finished up having a good race from 300 odd miles as such. cheers

One assumes they lift the crates out and prime what is needed to get them away together. My turn next week but it is geraldy trailer or I don't go . I am not lifting crates of birds around with my bad knees lol!
