Another hawk attack today. Cooper hawk I believe. Have tried animal spray, other methods to deter them. Nothing seems to work. So.....below is a pic of chrome tape, just like duct tape. Cheap. Shiny. Really reflects the light! Later today (2 am here, idea woke me up) will try cutting one inch squares and put on a few pigeons rumps. Flying flashers!! Worth a shot!

To try it will put a piece o tape on the back of a bird above the rump. Will put the bird in a trap. Nooses on top. Then see what happens. Not the same sparkle as flying but may work.

Tape will not stick, bloom or grease on feathers. Will try spray later.

Shit!! Hope your fingers end up OK! All I ever done was cut through the cord on occasion. Left or right hand?

It is 23:31 hours Tuesday night and I thought I would just share what I have been doing today.

I am building a new loft between two existing lofts - our young bird loft and the loft we use for stock hens, and anything else, when we need a place for a pigeon or pigeons.

I have put three of my fingers through our circular saw, which necessitated me having to call an ambulance, being rushed to our nearest hospital which is over 20 miles away, and having to have an emergency operation to save my fingers.

I have cut them half way along the finger parallel to the nail down to the first knuckle, and in the process completely smashed the bones in the top part of my fingers.

Photographs to follow!  For the squeamish, they will only be of my fingers bandaged up!

I can tell you, it hurts like bloody hell.

Deeply in pain,

Phil

P.S. luckily it looks like I will be able to keep the ends of my fingers as long as no infection sets in.
I hope so Phil Smile Smile "Keep your fingers" that's some crap news there. Power saws & ladders Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes can be a real killer for us old folk sadly going on statistics.  cheers
