| Will never be convinced that so many short tosses do any good, would be better results having an open loft most of the time and straight to 40 miles, would sort the wheat from the chaff and not continually put others at risk with these short tosses, the raptors are not bothered where the pgeons are tossed from.
Never will understand the logic. why start training so early anyway ????>

| so much for a rest for the late arrivals "as mentioned in the loft updates" our bird that was 2 days away went again this morning and not back in the loft for even 12 hours ,wonder if it got a feed in that time anyway both ours turned in today but the late arrival last night was late today some 45 mins off the pace from 38 miles .... it pays to keep yer eyes peeled on things i know the final counts but i am also interested in how the birds are being treated its anybodys guess what the tonic is ....food water and a rest would be a good start for a tonic especially for a bird that was 2 days away from the loft ffs |

| Any pigeon that has a bad do and has a night or two away does not need to be stressed again before having the chance to regain it's normal state of health.
Cannot see sense or reason in doing so, just what are these training tosses suposed to be doing ?.
They know their way home, fly further round the loft if given the chance and less open to a number of problems including the raptors.
In fact I think it could sicken them off.

| i think this years rpra one loft has beenrushed along due to this covid virus, they couldnt cancel it due to all the money they had taken, so they had to do something.........and part of that something was to reduce numbers in some way, and still get races to satisfy the people who had entered and paid their money . |

| Having had our feathered friends for 90% of my life this whole sinario beggars belief.
There is neither sense nor reason involved, think there should be an explanation of the methods and intentions forth comming.
The only real benefactors will be the mob entries and they may not be the best pigeons left, but the luckiest.
Ours are doing well to be there.
Dread to think how many will actually be left for the final.
Regards.

| The pigeons do look in good condition, and it must be a nightmare attempting to keep so many healthy, but it is the training etc: that appears unrealistic to get the best out of them and lose few along the way, townies would not ge lost from 90% of the training tosses and there is absolutely no need for so many. when every one involves losses for no reasonable reason.
It would also be interesting to know just what other than the basic feed etc; the pgeons are given and how.

| Would think hard and long oldstrain, never got over having to part with mine, but I do realise things have chaged drastically recently, you do not have to think only about what you are dong but what others are up to.
I was old when I had to pack in you are a spring chicken, I have only had to suffer a compsaratively short time without them, you would have much longer if the sport survives.
If Alfie has the bug would be sad to pack in for that reason alone although no doubt today there are many distractions comming his way, my son had a choice fishing or pigeons, should never have take him fishing from when he started to walk, should have kept him in the pigeon loft., he has been fishing mad ever since.
There is one saving grace oldstrain, the sport is not what it was, fanciers in the main are not what they were and the sports whole future is in doubt.
Would give anything to look out of the window and see an old favourite or two watched them for hours doing their own thing and very rarely did they let me down.
Even writing this and looking out of the same window brings memories and tears.
My advice oldstrain thinkl long and hard there may not be a worthwhile sport for much longer so enjoy the ups and downs along the way, if everything went to plan it would be boring.
Very best of luck to you and yours.
Regards.

| searched everywhere for a live feed and found nothing ,how dissapointing and what a waiste of time eh ....however we have 1 bird home in 62nd place number 93 ....usually misty theres a live feed on u-tube...they said sorry it was not up and running today but will be for the next race ....anyway after 45 mins of first bird arriving only 350 home from 946 ....to me thats not a good race considering all are flying to same location so obviously hit trouble |
