More sun than cloud there etc for what I see David at this stage for both days. Sunday being a blow home type scenario & Monday a man's type race . Tipping thou here, you know that welfare of the pigeons thing again, it will just be a Sunday job there I suspect sadly. & take care.

tell ya what oz if they go for a 20mph sunday blowhome them birds will come unstuck in the last hotspot and final they need a test so hopefully it will be monday which to be fair still looks an easy /good day ....seen it in our club races with easy racing for ybs then when they get a stiff one its a disaster ,personally i reckon they should have raced worksop last hotspot and should be at about 140/50 mile for this hotspot ....the last hotspot is about 150 final is 235 a bit of a jump but should not be a problem if all goes well but seldom does eh    be interesting Â

I know it is the same for all, however, cannot see any sense in short training events, just what are they being trained for, by now they surely know their way back from 20 miles and if past events are anything to go by they are not bothered about how long it takes them.
I think the early ones will be those that have developed a self motivation maybe paired up etc; the others just treating it like a flap around the loft.
A mystery to me.
Regards.

HOT SPOT 3 UPDATE August 28th, 2020 Good Evening
The birds went out this morning before the heavy rain came in today all seemed to enjoy the time and look well happy and content.
Tomorrow we will hand mark the birds starting around 5pm.
Tomorrow afternoon i am going to make a final decision on wheather we race on Sunday or Monday.
Tomorrow evening when i update with the latest i will also list birds not going to this race as we have had a few late birds that have also turned in the last day or two and some with injuries which will also not be going.
Will update after marking tomorrow late evening.

HOT SPOT 3 MARKED LIST August 29th, 2020 Good Evening
Please find the marked list for Worksop on the Benzing live website.
Depending on the weather situation and domestic liberations i could get them away early from 7am.
I will be onsite around midnight.
I will video the liberation and the live youtube stream will be running approx one hour after liberation.
We were pleased with the condition of the birds so hopefully we will get a good race with matching returns.
Best to luck to one and all.

95 is bred from my cristofell hen of the frans zwols paired to a grandson of the king of rekkem if memory serves me well alsoi have a full sister in the loft who has raced well for me and a brother who did well but went missing from a race this year and returned 2 weeks later with no primaries in one of his wings and hardly no tail so hopefully 95 is getting her act together 93 is bred from harder day birds

BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY UPDATE August 31st, 2020 Good Afternoon
We had a great race yesterday i must say its pretty rare we get much help with the wind in this one loft race flying the NE route but yesterday we did and most of birds made light work racing from 103 miles which was great to see in this type of race my worry was if they got the line and then not put the breaks on and go skirting by and you can loose alot more if this happens but thankfully they have had plenty of good education and did a fantastic time holding the line.
Now onto the semi final which is the same as last year Ripon race course a few yards under 150 miles.
The birds are looking in great condition today i am really pleased with them so my provisional plan at present going on the long range forecast is to give them a 22 mile trainer this coming Wednesday then race mark on Thursday and race from Ripon on Friday but the weather has to be ideal to do this etc so its not set in stone so if it changes that then will mean it would be from next Sunday onwards.
If you are thinking of pooling for Ripon make sure its in by Friday.
Please see one of the liberation videos filmed below by Rich Turner a local fancier to Worksop who fly’s a great pigeon too.
I will update tomorrow evening

We had a great trainer today they cleared well and made an excellent time into a head wind.
Friday is a no go racing from Ripon going on the latest forecasts so we will be looking from Sunday onwards but will see how the latest forecasts look nearer the time its important to get this one right but with high pressure building from Saturday onwards i can see no problem racing Sunday or early next week.
Either tomorrow or Friday they will get another 22 mile trainer to keep them going.
Will update tomorrow evening.

Still poor trapping but slightly better than previous videos. No sound so can't tell if anyone is at this end trying to get them in?
I'm sure come the final the first bird to hit the dropping board may well not be first on the clock.

ive a feeling your going to be right colin, poor trapping this year compared with other years ...........ive seen someone in the background when the birds land, he comes into the loft and sprinkles seed inside the trap to encourage them to come in, but no sound so have no idea if they are calling them or not .
