Rpra One Loft 2020 Updates .

WEDNESDAY
July 22nd, 2020
Good Evening

An excellent trainer today from the 22 mile point with a fresh head wind.

They cleared pretty well in about 4 groups and no signs of trouble today.

This point is further east from where they have been going which runs into another valley which they need to know this route going across the NE route racing.

Tomorrow they will have a rest day bath etc.

Friday they will be back at it , will leave the Benzing live on until tomorrow evening.

Will update with the latest Friday evening.

good to know we still have 2 birds still in it........would have been nice if he other 3 hadnt gone missing , i feel sure they would have still been there flying well if things had gone a little better , ie hawks etc ....

True Misty with all the horror stories going around etc I'm just glad we still have 2 in with a chance  maybe, even if they have only reached the big 22 scenario . Wouldn't dare ask     being who I'm          why only 900 odd fronted up there for the big one at this stage    . & take care.

1500 entries and we are at the 22 mile stage and 1/3 are out the game already you cant kid a kidder they have had health issues up there but why not just say ffs

Must have looked at the wrong list which was in alphabetical order and ours were definately not on it.

Hopefully the two will not be subject to raptor or any other problems.

Something to look forward to havig them in the final.

Same Knackered, looks like the final numbers will be something like a club race years ago.

Another thing that I noticed some have entered into double figures cannot have much faith in them, or possibly know the training regime etc;

Its about playing the numbers game Daz

Look at the SCMBR all the top fanciers enter large amounts

Koopman one year entered over 60

Vandenabeele entered only 4 and finished second

Its all about the quality and you have sent the quality needed to do well

FRIDAY UPDATE

Good Evening

Another long day for some i decided to move onto the 30 mile point as the birds are looking in good shape anyway liberated them and they broke into around 3 groups two groups cleared pretty well and another group got turned back i do think by a falcon as they were diving around as if in trouble i continued to watch and eventually they doubled back and cleared.

Many south road trainers are now in the Sky’s and with a head wind these one loft birds have to think for themselves and get there heads down as alot of bigger steps infront of them , most have dug deep and worked in but some still to come but we can’t wrap them up in cotton wool now with the work load ahead of them.

Were be back at the 30 mile point when the weather suits and domestic racing is out the way as looks like alot are racing Sunday now.

Have a great weekend will update on Sunday evening.

thats good to hear darren, lets hope ours get to race, and hopefully 2 in the final again .......

Yes, very good news.

Just when do they have the first trial races ?.

Pity if one batch was affected by raptors but it is impossible to avoid them they are evertwhere and no doubt hang around if a training spot is used regulary.

Fingers crossed, like walking on a tight rope.

thing is when letting big batches go on a trainer the later released ones get the aggro as bop been alerted to whats going on 93 for us half sibling to last years entries having the same dam

Hope for the best for our 2 little champs etc O/S & then just hope for the worst I say for the rest of them in the race as such     .

Good Evening

Looking at the weather tomorrow its forecast gales and rain but Tuesday looks ok at the moment so will be back training then.

Will update on Tuesday evening with the latest.

Yes & one at the pointy end I see with the latest result etc Ray . Bounced back also from being a wee bit on the slow side at it's previous toss, so all looking good from my perspective maybe. & take care.

not sure when the first race is, i`ll try find out ...........might not be long to go

only thing i can find misty is Week commencing 3rd August: Ashbourne 70 miles , not sure if thats still the plan , this might have been before all this covid happened.

TUESDAY UPDATE

Good Evening

Not the best trainer today half cleared well the others not so good and that’s when they can run into trouble.

Tomorrow we won’t be training they are on a little tonic and hopefully Thursday morning we will be back training.

Any that come tomorrow will rest up.

I will update more tomorrow evening.

dont like the sound of that, so hes saying ( without actually saying it ) half the birds ran into trouble ........does putting those already back onto a tonic mean theres health problems ?

its a strange one this year, never had doubts about the rpra one loft in previous years, but this year seems a bit uneasy .

Yes, David, strange from start to finish this year, learned a lot about training etc; used.

You do not give medication for nothing and to suggest training striaght after ??????.


Can see (hope not) a sad ending.

Fingers crossed ours are not involved but sorryfor those that are.

one of ours was away 2 days but turned in tonight ,lets hope it gets a good rest before going on the trainer again a syndicate in my organisation sent 24 ybs to the rpra one loft and have 8 entries remaining also know another freind sent 6 and he has 1 left 93 is doing ok i hope it gets to the hotspots i really fancied this one when i sent them up ....these ybs have had 27 tosses up until now

& was I sweating on him O/S  to turn up etc thought we were down to one I'm . The last ones home there I see including our little champ were going slower in the end than I'm these days here . End of the day, given a rest for a day or two they all should bounce back OK hopefully, I hope.

I think David the trouble is they are tossing them far too far type of thing maybe . 900 odd pigeons, from 30 miles after 25 tosses    . Talk about being cruel      . My mind boggles   I'm   if I trained them my/our way down here as such on average, with what would be left there at the finish .
