Glad they all made it back etc O/S But I ask the simple question thou, why were they at 30 miles, in stead of being up at Worksop having our 2nd race as such. Especially considering, the first bird was doing well over 1400 odd yds/minute there.

Good Evening

The training went pretty well today and i expect most of you have gathered the first two birds were late returns so Four Nations Syndicate are in 1st place.

It was a good fresh head wind so made them work a little.

Tomorrow will update with plans for Hot Spot Two.

FRIDAY UPDATE
August 21st, 2020
Good Morning

Under present and prevailing weather conditions etc we will be racing Hot Spot 2 from Ashbourne this Sunday with a midday liberation onwards to allow any racing to go through.

The provisional plan then is to race Hot Spot 3 Worksop 103 miles on Thursday or Friday weather allowing then onto Hot Spot 4 from Ripon race course the semi final 149 miles a week later then onto the final From Alnwick.

I will leave early with the birds Sunday morning and settle them onsite for a few hrs before a liberation.

Will video and post the liberation.

A marked list will be online tomorrow evening.Best of luck to everyone.

Yes oldstrain, half the enjoyment is seeing them return ( in particular if we are in the hunt)

I am hopeless at this computer lark, if it is to be shown would appreciate how to get the right site.

I must be dumb as horse sh*te I'm as I didn't twig the first 2 weren't the first 2 type of thing. Happy for Four Nations etc But really, another Ashbourne to just get the blood boiling again as such.

I hope to be onsite around 10am tomorrow morning with a midday liberation depending on the weather situation tomorrow.

I will video the liberation and the youtube live camera will be live one hr after liberation.

Unfortunately we are not allowing spectators at the lofts until the semi final and the final race as i will be with the birds these next two races and cannot have a large amount of vistors turning up at present until i can be present.

Maybe starting to feel some agro there etc David with how things are playing out with our race this year at this stage with posting an injured list for those with an interest. On a positive note thou i suggest if it all turns to a jelly type substance this weekend from Ashbourne we will fortunately, still have 20 odd walking wounded types to just carry on with maybe .

misty....heres the link to the race that david put up for us ,liberation around midday but weather dont look favourable for a decent race ,oz....i think yer bang on ,seems strange to state injuries etc...never did this last year

The 30th one back could have been first on the clock (unless I missed some earlier?)
Pigeons looked immaculate but there's some reason they don't like that loft, you can always get some not keen on trapping but none of them birds were wanting in.
Certainly a lottery by looks of things.

yes colin, none were in a hurry to trap ..........its was pot luck which dropped through the bobs first .

maybe trap better as the distance gets further ?

Same, same trapping there as tragic as the South African race I suggest Ray . Being the age now for the legal eagle types, maybe a case there of someone being taken to court for bad management on the trapping issue, if one is a bad looser type & puts money before everything else . End of the day thou     a first class example there     of how lady luck can fall/go your way or not in the end, maybe.

SUNDAY UPDATE

Good evening

Just a quick update to say well done to all the prize winners.

I was hoping to beat the 700 mark today and we nearly got there and 500 arrived within 45 minutes from 1st place in a fresh side wind which I can’t grumble to much and hopefully a good few more will work in tomorrow but I still feel disappointed as I expected better.

The weather again looks unsettled for the week ahead I may try for a trainer Wednesday then onto Hot Spot 3 as soon as the weather allows.

Will update tomorrow evening.

MONDAY UPDATE
August 24th, 2020
Good Evening

The birds kept on working in today from first light to the evening which was pleasing to see.

About 12 from the rest bay have joined the team today ready hopefully to train on Wednesday.

All being well everything that’s fit to go will be trained this Wednesday dependent on the weather as its the only day looking any good at the moment.

Thursday and Friday looks a no go at present again weather wise so Hot Spot 3 could be Sunday again if not first day possible.

Please send yours pools in asap if you are thinking of pooling.

I will update on Wednesday with the latest.

Worlds become a disaster zone I'm you now having a punt on a pigeon etc Misty . Boris is in trouble with his school program, TV licence scenario & what people may or may not sing it appears, to be correct on the day & then there is something called Brexit lurking in the wings. Only positive thing going our 2 little champs yesterday had a real tough fly for 20 to 25 minutes to tune them in & condition them for our next hot spot race  . & take care.

WEDNESDAY UPDATE

Good Evening

Overall a good trainer today for them.

Weather dependent we will be training again tomorrow from the same place.

Friday they will be loft flown and then baths down for them and a bit of relax time.

Saturday they will be hand marked and we will either race this coming Sunday or Monday depending on the weather situation and domestic racing nearer to the time on Saturday morning.
