Club Secretary Resigned

recently found out our club sec has resigned, can he do this, or does it have to be put in at the AGM ...?

so what will happen now, do we vote a new secretary in at the AGM which should be in the next month or two ...?

Of course he can. Could give a few seconds notice. No more than having been voted in... or should have been. Just a burdensome privilege lol.

As long as he is a paid up member.

True Misty. But must have been Fully Paid up member when voted for... or not lol.
Because a club can have a secretary that isn't a club member, or even a Keeper of pigeons.

he hasnt resigned from the club, he is still a member.....just resigned from being secretary .

will there be a temporary secretary until a new one is found, how and who will notify the members when the AGM is , we should have had a club meeting sunday just gone, but we didnt, and no notifications off anyone as to whats going on .......

Woud think President would call a meeting and attempt to get someone to take over matters until a new secretary can be found, or do it his/her self until next AGM.

ah right, thanks for the info misty, seems like the man who takes the money (treasurer ?) has also resigned but is still a member ......

Seems a funny time to resign before all matters, in particular finacial, are sorted out and voted on.

theres been a bit of a disagreement in the club misty, main thing is the club keeps going, and those who want to race their birds can do ........for how long, i dont know

Not suprised David, very diffcult times, but would have thought a time for all to pull together.

Under present circumstancrs very difficult to accomodate everyones situation must be a bit of give and take.

Not easy under normal times at times.

Another problem, we have no idea what the situation will be next year.

I would resign tomorrow if I could but nobody will do the job and the club would fold and I wouldn't want that on my mind , plus one of the oldest clubs going is ours

if i remember right, the ones whos just resigned took the job because no one else wanted it .............but im sure another will jump into his job this time pretty easily

Nobody wants the hassle, I certainly don't now with other problems going on in my life . I will do it as long as I possibly van

Think all those capable of doing a job in the club should take a turn if there is no one willing to do it permantly.

I have taken my turn in all positions, the last few years as President/Chairman and previously as Secretary, sweeper upper, and general dogs body.

The main reason I packed in was because I became unable to do my share.

The lads offered to do everything for me, one young fancier offering me a chair to just watch at marking and clock checking.

Not my style felt left out of the party.

But it tskes all sorts unfortunately.

It's my sight that dictates whether I can carry on, but I will as long as possible. It's a struggle though I must admit sometimes

It is a illness lol...

And I have been blaming the wife all these years.

Must take her out for a nice meal when able to make up for it, and a bunch of flowers if finances allow.

should be ok now Misty I suggest maybe with you going into lock down mode now. Bank balance increases some what I found here   .

Found the same Knackered regarding the bank balance, cannot believe what I used to spend money on.

Unfortunately the wife has also noticed and she definately has her own ideas where it should go.

Well you will save some money as he will forfeit some of his wages no doubt.
A job not many can do. Over riding the many voices dictating in his ear of what they would do. What he should be doing! ... None ever stepping forward though come the A.G.M. All then silent, till the new poor blighter is in place and ready to be told!
I think I most likely was one of the few, if any one else was never voted for again after sorting a few home truths and the RESPONCIBILITY of ALL members!

I sort like the job even though it stresses me out but I am suppose proud and honored to do it..I get paid 100 pounds a year and its been the same for the past 6 years or so... certainly not doing it for nowt..it pays my fees

same, same here when you find the secret  thou of not spending by your wife there etc Misty please just let me know     as my other half believes she has 6 months of shopping to make up for now down here for some strange reason .

Think you will have a long wait Knackered.

These ladies have a determination relative to spending that would take a better man than me to solve.

Could suggest handcuffs and blindfolds at critical times but would only have to suffer later.

Have at least a few weeks to think about it but think a few years necessary to understand how the ladies evaluate matters.

But will keep it in mind.
