Club Secretary Resigned

Going back to secretary thing , I do it because nobody else would and my wife does treasurer job , again as nobody wants too . We use our 200 pound for the Blackpool show normally as believe it not she loves Blackpool,  but not for the pigeons lol

Suspect somehow Don either David carn't read etc     or he has never seen a rule book as such .

RPRA Rules list the Officers that should serve the club.

The Pesident and Chairman Secretary Vice Presedents Etc; Etc;

Problem?

There are clubs with single figure membership that could not possibly conform other than doubling up.

For man years I was Chairman of one club, and the last club I raced in properly was President / Chairman for several years although the membership was well into double figures.

What I cannot understand at the Council often the President takes the chair when he has not been voted to do so.

The best run clubs are when all the officers are friendly and with the best interests of the club at heart.

I am secretary and I haven't a clue who has the other jobs , chairman or whatever,  again because nobody is interested in any jobs , even the most important ones nevermind the lesser ones

Surely you must have a Treasurer who looks after the finances, Chairman who conducts the meetings and President and secretary, to meet the minimum requirements.

The secretary is there to take the minutes of the meeting.

Cannot understand how a club can function without.

Yes my wife is treasurer, I am secretary, only 4 turned up at last meeting so basically a waste of time. As said they have no interest what so ever. I basically run it all myself now and it's just as well as no club . I used to write everything down but again no interest so why bother . As long as the club is there for us proper pigeon men who want to race , why should I worry about those that don't care..I used to , I really did but over the years I am starting not to. I have enough in my life going on than to worry about them . I really have

I di it for a few years as no one else could be bothered even though they are retired and know all the rules, and I work full time and was Chairman of a football club at the time.
Considering they all looked the other way when the job came up, they soon jump all over you, quoting this rule and that rule if you make a mistake.

Yes thats right . Our members whinge about everything but if not at meetings they need to shut up

Well Ray, was going to post Recommendations included 'Never have a Secretary and wife in same house hold... also another to sign cheques/ payments with a third Signature.
Mind in todays climate I feel it has to be.

Mind I'm not in the least implying any untoward happenings are going on in your abode Ray. in your home of course not!

just been thinking, who will be ordering the clubs rings, they will need ordering soon i should think.......but with no sec, and covid restrictions, what do i do ....?

If I was worried David I would order my own directl from HQ.

was thinking that misty, but ive not had my membership card off the sec for the last couple of years, i know my loft number but i`d need to send my card to order rings wouldn't i ...?

I wish someone else would do the job , totally agree my wife shouldn't have to do it but believe me when I say nobody would do the job because they are lazy t**ts and probably only about 4  genuine flyers in the club , the rest are a waste of time..only race a few races then stop , don't go to meeting but still whinge on a Friday night when they do race . First to leave when their birds are in the baskets and leave the same ones to wait for the transporter to arrive   whinge about subs   cost of birdage , how many birds in a basket ect ect . I could go on all night   honestly . Our club only has a few hundred pounds in the bank so again I don't think we would be fiddling that , even if thousands..again I am a honest man and do my best for everyone and not a thank you.. I will do it one for year only due to my sight problem   otherwise I would continue as long as we race pigeons ...

Don't tempt me haha . If I was 20 years younger I might have but I love South shields,  its just the knackers that I don't like

Competition for us Ray it appears. New boy on the block etc David & his 140 odd rings Read he has an empty house next door there  now    & that will be their new home, maybe   .
