breeding mix for this year

i think the ybs get fed better if fed in the nest box, also if they have water too ....also if fed in the nest box they tend to learn quicker how to eat and drink, so that by the time i wean them they already know how to drink and eat as they have been doing it since they were probably around 20 days old.

Think it makes no difference as long as they get fed properly, parents know how to feed them.

If it works for you no problem.

the main thing i watch for is the yb must always been clean

yes misty i agree, feed the parents and they will do the rest provided they are in good health them selves ........

but one of my pet hates is young birds that go backwards when weaned, it is very easy to do if they do not know how to eat, and especially how to drink .......i am happy by feeding in the nest box that i have done my best to give them a good start in life, because once they start going backwards in my experience they rarely ever pull round again and go down hill to the point where they have to be disposed of, or they never make anything of them selves and are always weedy and weak .

Any problems you can illiminate David makes sense to do so.

If it works for you why take a chance.

Think it far harder rearing young when confined than on open loft.

I always just provided what was necessary and let them get on with it.

Yes David, the more I think about it, I ain't as smart as I think regarding healthy pigeons etc;

With open loft they were probably putting right that which I was doing wrong in their own way but very pleased either way.

True that Misty  (funny old game) Experts say open loft leads to worms etc suspect thou many open lofts fans, would somehow disagree somehow .

the mix i'm using looks ok by the droppings but it's crop is full but goodness me very small
