Mark I had family that lived in the next street to Dereck When asking the fanciers who raced against him not many had a good word to say about him and said he played his cards very close to his chest |

| yes I agree with you but would not train 360 because its very unlikely for the bird to overfly the loft.i always trained mine single up.bobby waltons idea liberating in mid channel was a great idea good training for the birds.wish I was able to do when I raced.about the hens yes I think it would be a good idea providing it does not take to much out of the hen feeding the young on her own |

I understand what you mean by leaving the hens to feed the youngsters on there own but what you can do when you send the hens training you can place the cock bird back in the loft to feed the youngsters while the hen is away to help take the extra pressure of the hen |

Amberleaf I see you live in Philippines do you live close to the coast If you live close to the coast it may be best to train your birds the furthest point across land to get the birds using there brains by changing the direction you train your pigeons each day |

| I lived in Dorchester dorset I started racing when I was 12 and finished when I was 60 because my son wanted to move to china to get married after a while I moved to phillipines I wanted to race pigeons here but they only race in manila which is 1000miles from where I live. in England I raced north as far as thurso and south as far as pau I miss racing so I came on here to try and find young person just starting racing to try and help them and maybe if they wanted to go in partnership with them if not I would just try and help them I hope you understand now |

| Tony can I suggest something have you heard of one loft racing the one a few members on here are in is called sumerset OLR its for people who can not keep or race birds sure you must have heard of it you send how many birds you like to this loft and all the birds race back to it there should be about 850 birds when it closes the cost is £100 a bird to enter sure members on here would breed you a bird and you can follow it on sumerset website george |

| Yeah i know what your saying Knackered about the JA ;they all had the Pedigrees with Muiltable distance Blood etc ;Some times i wunder if we are to hard on them or they are too soft over there ;Going on what came & the money spent they were a Disapointment ?; now i know of a Bloke who imported his own from a mr Kennedy in Scottland ;that went ok but they were crossed with Local Distance Birds & matured must Quicker & raced the first year ; all in all the Euro Distance birds have not fired out here & plenty of Money as changed hands ; A couple of guys in My Fed out here have Imported the Coopers off there International Winners ;i'm keeping my fingers crossed for them ;there off spring must be 2 this flying season ;But People must remember we have been racing Babies out to & winning to 600miles for 100 years & only the Tuffest have servived ; in the latter part of the 1800's only the Millionaires could afford to bring them in so the Best were imported from Belguim ; England & America ;the Uncle Sam 1000 mile birds came 1918 some of them had flown & won at 1000 mile 3 times ; so i believe may be we out here didn't relise how good our Old distance Blood was & may be thats why the Euro have not fired so far ; The Euro Sprint & Middle distance Blood have been Outstanding ;thats for sure . cheers |

| Age for our Babies are under 12 months ; the Birds we did well with this year mostly 8 to 10 months Old ;Still carrying there last nest flights the younger ones of them ; We have no Old or Young Bird Racing like you over there as such ; sorry must correct my self ;i think the VHA as started up again ? ;But every where else Open Racing ; so birds are Liberated together ; now over the last 40 years returns are not as good as in the past & have spiralled down hill ;this is mainly caused by the Hawks ;its been real bad out here since that time as we are not allowed to trap them anymore ; but about 30 years ago we started up importing again ;& in my opinion we brought the wrong type of pigeons in ; mainly Sprint Birds ; they were crossed into the Old Blood & they put Speed into them & were raced Striaght ; what happened was most of the Top Guy thought there own birds were to slow & got rid of the Old Blood ;here lied another problem; Now the crosses flew well but there Offsprings were not as reliable as our Old Blood ?;we here have maintained our Old Blood along with a few other Fanciers ;so when it gets Long or Hard Flying or a Smash we still clock them ;that may only be 2 or 3 weeks a year out of 22 races ; hope iv'e answered your Questoin ok . cheers

| You must remember we only have 12 hrs of sunlight as we start flying in the Winter Months ; its not uncommon to get daybirds ;some fly into the night ;but mostly early the next day are clocked to win ;i think time limit is around 4 days ? ;we are not looking for birds to walk home ?lol Our Fed Last year did not fly the 600 mile race ;but flew the 500 plus from Mildura in the S/W pretty Ruff country out that way our Fed had 11 day birds for memory 10 were babies; these would of all been flown to the perch most of them would of been Young Hens flown Seperatly . Iv'e mentioned before i think the Older Birds are too Cunning & are looking to go down when attacked by the Falcon , cheers
