had my old birds out for the first time in about 7 months, only flew for 5 minutes but didnt expect any more really.............did have a bito f trouble getting them back into the loft which again i expected, but still have one out which didnt want to land and come in....... Crying or Very sad

did notice food still in the pots which i feed in the boxes so cant expect them to trap properly yet but ive made mistakes last year due to getting the feeding right and it looks like i`ll be having the same problems this year if i dont get it right now.........

any advise anyone....?

yes, the last of my ybs were only parted friday so cocks not really that hungry and want to mess about........to say mine havnt been out for 7 months i did expect a few problems at the start but i cant let it go on for too long, need to get them into a routine as soon as possible, but if birds are hungry they wont fly, and if not hungry they wont trap will they so its just getting the balance i suppose.

doesn,t matter how long they fly for just cut there grub down being locked up
for 7 months it will take at least a month for there body to get working properly again
get them in a routine morning and night and stick to it even if they only fly for 10 mins
with in a week they will fly a lot better but don,t force them and give them lots of warm baths
i take it your flying w/hood when out don,t hang about cos if they see you they wount fly
cheers kev .

cheers don , been reading on another site a top flyer having probs with his cocks flying lop sided or having there wings hanging down after exercise after being locked up all winter loads of reason on why , but the main thing is let them get them self fit with out forced exercise
top footballers need six weeks pre season training before a league game whats the difference with pigeons who have to fly of up to 50mph over many miles and we don,t take really any notice of it , just let nature take its course TIME don,t rush them .

cheers mate , don,t get me wrong im no top flyer and i don,t know every thing to do with pigeons
but having had them since i was about 10 thats 35 years (bloody hell ) its just common sense really
but some flyers are all to eager to get them up and running all to quick and pop pills down there throat
and chase averages with yearling in cold east winds the season starts to early for me , but each to there own
