| what are members doing about exercisin now the seasons over, mine dont go out very much at the moment but will be exercising sundays and maybe another day during the week...............
what will you be doing ? |

| mine go out every day weather permitting except sat's as it is shootin season here but not many shoot in the week |

| ah right, i think some keep the birds in a lot so they arnt prey to the hawks during winter.........altho i did keep mine in all last winter and it didnt do them any good i dont think as they were way out of condition and a bit fat............ |

| i never let my birds out over winter they are kept in from the last race up until they are paired and sitting let them recharge |

| i always understood the short to middle distance birds would stay in untill pairing up and the long distance would have a open loft |

| Last year I mostly keptthe birds in all winter as the year before sparrowhawks were always after them when they were out, but I have managed this area now and will be letting them out this year every time the weathers good. I personally think they need regular exercise or at least some whenever we can during the winter, they will simply get too fat otherwise. |

| hi martyn, yes i agree....i kept mine in all winter last year and i dont think it did them any good, i think if they go out maybe evenb a couple of times a week it will keep them a bit fitter and be easier to get them going when the training comes around............ |

| we had a nice weather in west oxford today david and see tomorrow is 22 so still t shirt and shorts (no shorts for me) we can tell when the summer is over is when the postman puts on the long trousers he sticks out to the very end |

| people say it hard to get them race fit after keeping there birds in all winter , i keep mine in all winter and dont find i have anybother getting them race fit they are fresh and ready to go after a long winters rest |
