no, i will use the theory of ' best to best' based on the pedegree+ colour+eyesign. actually i haven't got many birds, so it's easy for me to decide which bird pairs to which one.

Eyes are interesting mate, like to see a bird with nice bright eyes....Just seems to be better for me pairing through performance....and the stock bred birds paired through similar sort of characteristics...

i think a few do alex, even tho they are not "eyesign" enthusiasts they do consider certain aspects of the eye when considering pairings.........

will agree with you ginger, as far as racing its irrelivant really.......its no good evaluating a pigeons eye when you know how its performed is it. but as far as breeding goes i think maybe a fancier can predict whet ybs will race like off certain eyes/birds if they are a family he has had for a while......

yes thats right ginger, you know your own birds dont you...........i suppose if a fancier breeds say for instance a mealy in a nest he might know by experrience it will be no good for racing, but if a cheq is bred it might be good....... its all about knowing your own birds probably, isnt it......

in the tippler world ov pigeons we put the best performers together but very rarely do we inbreed. birds that dont do 10 hours plus are binn ed most ov the time thats why theres not a lot ov rubbish about with high flyers

Hello Highflierboy, could you put up a picture of one or two of your birds as I've no idea what they look like, also is it all about the length of time they fly or other aspects like their colouration as well? Also, do they tumble?? Cheers Steve
