hows everyones young bird training going

I had 22 away yesterday to thrules which is about 70 mile away from me. Again I wasent in the running as my club members get first drop in Finglas mine were 15 minutes behind, only difference with me is I got full returns and other members were missing alot of Birds so I'm happy with my returns. These sprint races are hard for me to win feeling frustrated affraid

ive been training my mates birds for him 3 times a week at 23 miles a day, first race this saturday and today they flew an extra 20 miles and all home before me ,looking good.fingers crossed for sat.

I understand your frustration etc Joe Smile

But !!! it's just a mind set thing in my view & once you get that tuned in lol!

or sorted out type of thing, it's no big deal, being beating in the short races. Bigger fish to be caught Rolling Eyes

at the end of the season. So I would just concentrate on getting good returns each week at this early stage. cheers

nail biter today lib 42 same place same time, then on the way home a sea frett flowed in from the east, it came in very fast , onward coming cars had there head lights on , not good , got home around same time wife met me at the gate said there all home and fed Very Happy

yes knackered, I suppose its all part and parcel of racing pigeons that we inevitably loose some of them, either through racing/training or through injuries or hawks .......they do say never to choose favourites or get too attached to them, and I think they are right. Crying or Very sad

training goes on today, the last one before their first race this weekend, then ive done all I can for them....... clown

yup desaters happen we havent lost one young bird all year then yesterday bang we were 9 down 1 came late last night smashed up and 2 more the same this morning not much hope for the 6 still missing

noticed today when I took them there are big pylons across the route they will come home, I must have took mine approx. 10 - 12 times this season to this place and have done other years.........and this is the first time ive had one injured and one missing(presumed dead).

just goes to show it only takes one or two to fly off course and that's it, hit the wires. Crying or Very sad

well went for a 20 miler last night split the team so only took 44 up they went 1 circle and off they went with percy in hot persuit ended up 9 short 1 was sitting there this morning wife phoned to say another 4 have dropped in starting to wonder if its worth the time effort money spent when all that happens is percy hitting them thats 5 times i been hit in 6 chucks well pished off sean
