| It is what one uses to get the best results. Bill Butterfield flew in West Hartlepool before coming to Canada many years ago. He lived in Toronto, big city. He was cautious training and had excellent results. Passed away few years back. Pete Sloan from Liverpool (soccer player back then) came to Canada and his methods were as he said, train train and train some more. He had outstanding results. There are no set training regimes for all. 20 of mine go tomorrow. 1st toss 12 miles. Weather? Good headwind sun and cloud. But they fly around here open country for hours. Any weather that is reasonable. Basically open loft here. So, I lose half? Not likely but not a problem. They will get two 12 milers then double up from there. I do not need numbers, just a few good ones. Here is an interesting fact. Birds were out, young birds, few years ago. Not trained yet. Hawk dove in for a meal and the birds scattered. 1 young bird was reported a week later in Montreal. 500 some miles East of me. Was done for the guy said, so wiped out it could not walk. Told him to feed it etc, when fit it should come back. 3 weeks later the young bird was back here. |

| no training for my birds till it cools off a bit, let the humidity and the thunder storms go past, then i shall think of training again, you get nowt rushing ,steady away is the order of the day, even if it means missing a race or two ? |

| Hello lads enjoying the post, I've been going hard at it on the training and I'm having same problem David there doing very little loft exercise! But training well, I'm been told I'm feeding to much I feed an ounce a day and I'm finding there still very hungry, personally I'd like to let them eat and when finished take food away, I find my Birds fly better this way, can anyone put me right? How's it going Edgie just wondering do you think if you stop Training after first race you can keep up with the pack with loft training and motivation? I might try it seems my Birds are well schooled and Know what they have to do now. Can I ask has this method worked for anyone before? Sorry about all the questions just curious, you know the way it is everyone telling you different things but what your saying there makes sense to me. Cheers lads my Birds resting tomorrow, loft training Saturday morning then basketing Saturday night for Sunday race.
