| my roundabout hens are stating to pair up,well they where but i lck them up now once i get them in and are fed..some people say their hens do,nt pair up,but in my eyes if they are as fresh as mine in which i want for the cocks how else can you stop them doing it.....any thoughts on this |

| Ray if you have chance to look at the DVD of Ronnie Evans he keeps his hen just that little hungry just to take there mind of things, as he says in the DVD he likes to see them keen |

| Remember when your mother had the washing hanging up in the kitchen area you can use something like that to stop them from going to the floor but you can still remove it when it is time for there feed |

| yes these idea,s good for widowhood hens which i have done all before,its roundabout hens i,m on about.i think locking them up is the best thing for them |

| ray, never flown roundabout so cant coment on it.......but we have flown widowhood and have found hens pairing up a problem, dont know if what we did will help but firstly the hens were fed on barley and kept a little short, secondly they sat on roofing lats accross the loft so they couldnt get too cosy with each other, also we never used a floor covering ie sand/deep litter etc which can encourage them to nest on the floor.....and lastly we had an aviery on the hens section and would leave the hens out in this during the day. |
