turned out a real tough race only 6 birds clocked at the club and only 3 members out of 8 clocked 3rd and 6th club for us and some pool money our first bird is pooled in the open to ,hope other members had good racing this weekend to

Cannot grumble at that oldstrain.

Bet some never get a bird. (hope they all do but it does not work out like that some send in hope rather than expectation).

Well done to the pair there etc O/S . One of those races it appears     where the men come out to play as such . Chatter down the club a wee bit on the quite side to normal was it . Now few ventured out down here over the weekend I'm because of the virus, found 3 local club results thou of sorts. Best one 973 next 955 & last but not least 766 mpm .

just got word we are 6th open that bird deserves that ,2nd club 12 open berwick 300 miles 8hrs 5 mins last year....3rd club 6th open crieff 344 miles 9hrs 31 mins this year....plus plenty other positions from shorter races ,he only had 1 race as a yb and on return after a drink i noticed a wet strip going down his crop and their was a very small hole in it ,17 races in all and has scored 7 times ....not a bad ratio in a strong club to ,thanks for the kind comments lads here he is  "lucas"

True etc Barnie & as I would put it down here he has balls as such as he was prepared to put the head down & go go go etc to just reach home 1st & make the pair, happy happy happy on the day .

thankyou lads ,steve i feel it always gives the bird the credit it deserves after all i did the easy bit ,also spare a thought for my clubmate graham he was 3rd 4th open some flyer that fella if you beat his time you usually won the club and end up high in the open ,i call him lg...lefebre graham

Last OB race was the 11th July, 1st YB start Aug 1st.

good luck lads if yer racing this weekend ...we are not the birds have brought something back from the transporter ,a bit worried as there are varying sympthoms
and i hope its not circo virus i had to take 2 hens away and also 2 squabs in the nest ,just when you think yer up with pigeons you will soon get a smacked ass eh ,those 2 cocks were starting to drive again and i really fancied them and now it will be a struggle to get them through ,first time using a antibiotic for 5 years but its required ,just have to hope for the best now ...annoying as its somebody elses problem put in the basket at the club and when i start to think of a culprit ,makes you wonder if its all worth the aggro ybs are not right either they look to be going down to so maybe carried something in on my feet ...oh the joys of racing pigeons eh

Typical after all the hard work and the racing about over for old birds, hope they pull through. Having experienced circovirus first hand I would say you'll know in 24 hours if that's what you got, I sincerely hope it's something else and any secondary infections are treatable. Since you don't misuse antibiotics as a matter of course your birds should rapidly respond to this medicine so fingers crossed. best wishes, hope they pick up quickly pal

Goes without saying oldstrain a real sickener.

It could be several things just hope it is treatable.

The problem is that too many fanciers prop up unhealthy pigeons and put them in the paniers when if treated normally they would be culled.

Far too much rubbish put down pigeons throats, and the miss use of antibiotics has a lot to answer to.

Too many problems masked by flock treatment, but they can pass the problem on.

Do not get down hearted oldstrain these things are sent to try us and all we can do is our best.

Oh my God Darren what a sickener, I feel for you mate.

Another problem oldstrain may be the pigeon/pigeons in the panniers that possibly caused the problem may be in the panniers again this week, carriers.

Have any of your fellow club members had the same problem ?.

Hope matters are improving.
