yes thats my favourite bit, seeing what colour the ybs are going to be .......but with me just breeding of van reets, its not such a surprise, they are either blues or blue white flights / pieds

As noted, banded 2 today. However, all birds together and mated free choice. 9 pairs went down and sat. 5 left the first egg. To cold. Have not went down again.
Waiting for better weather I assume.

I have always thought it's too cold to breed . I wish I could wait a few more months to be honest but sadly we can't

had another 3 hens lay last night one lofters will probably come from these ,see what the ybs turn out like ,just 2 hens to lay now they are in the pan looking like they will lay maybe tonight ,great to have all near same age ...thought that cold snap may have put them off gone better than expected ...

glad to hear alls going to plan darren, i wont be pairing for another week or so here......

should bode well david its getting milder now eh ,i have had to use a light from 7.30 am til 5.00pm just ordinary daylight bulbs x2 (warm glow not cool white theres a big difference)its helped as you can hear them fire up when the lights go on not leaving it on outside normal daylight hours though ,had to be done it has been so overcast and dank ...you could tell it perked them up
