| Cannot remember ever falling out with friends, differences of opinion, yes.
If I do not mention Ron my snooker pal and he knows that will be the first fall out.
When I retired we played snooker for 3 hours every Monday and latterly Friday.
That for over 21 years, missed only a couple of weeks in that time.
Only stopped because of covid.
He is three years older than me and was an artist for a publishing company.
Not enjoying the best of health but still plodding on, but his wife, also a friend is ill and needs his care.
I feel those with no close friends miss out on a lot.
A problem shared.
Regards. |

| Could not sleep last night, nagging thoughts about my life.
I think one tends to only think about the good one does and forgets the bad.
How one can forget some things of significance I know not.
I said I never fell out with friends.
Wrong.
Around 40 years ago I fell out with two pigeon friends.
It involved matters of the heart.
I was in the wrong.
One died before we could resolve matters and forgive, the other returned as a friend until he died.
The day before the latter died he said would I do something for him as I was the only one he could trust, many years after.
The facts involved had a bearing on my state of mind after the death of my wife, and still affect me if I think about them. I think the brain blanks out some things at times but truth is truth and the done cannot be undone but forgiveness is a blessing.
Think will keep to pigeon maters hence forth.
Although there is little that has not been covered hundreds of times.
Just had to get that off my chest.
Regards.

| Just had a good read through all the past and recent bird flue problems.
Some heartbreaking accounts of many hand reared birds having to be culled, involving many exotic ones.
Not to mention many poultry breeds.
Cannot find a case of pigeons being involved but many similar types of birds have been affected in the wild.
Could be that the present vaccination of our pigeons has something to do with them not showing any signs of the problem.
Reality would indicate that at some time one of our racing pigeons will become a victim.
If the past is anything to go by, if that happens a new vaccine will appear and be as per the present vaccines.
Then there is compensation if a fancier has to cull all his/her pigeons.
Who decides the amount of compensation ?
Take the peel bros, think just as much as anyone else about their pigeons. then take a stud like Massarella.or any other stud.
Would suggest that the former feel more pain than the studs, the latter in it for the money only.
Hope it does not happen but if some fancier keeps poultry near their pigeon lofts it will happen.
Up to fanciers to take care.
Regards.

| You should be OK George if your pigeons are confined.
Is your neighbour aware of the problem ?
If not would have word in his ear.

| personally i would say nothing to him george, and certainly do not make him aware that you keep pigeons ..........because if the time comes the authorities pay him a visit, or make him cull them, you run the risk of him grassing you up for keeping pigeons ......just my opinion, but then again i trust no one . |

No doubt, having a poultry unit he will be well aware of the situation and the consequences of not complying George. As your pigeons are confined there is little chance of your pigeons being affected. Just make sure any nesting or other materials etc; you take into your lofts cannot be contaminated. How long has he had the chickens next door ? Maybe a safeguard should those in his unit get the flu. Regards. . |

Sounds like what I thought George, it was about the same time the problem got serious so he made provision for keeping some safe. Think there is a lot to learn about this virus before it is beaten. Regards. |

would Do you get on well with your neighbour George, if so may be wise to have a word in his ear. What are the regulations for keeping livestock in gardens. Know they vary from one area to another. Would think hens a greater risk that pigeons. Best to get on well with neibours. Regards. |

Cannot see you having any problems with the neighbour George. Nor with your pigeons. Just hope the hatching goes well and a good result in the OL. You put plenty of effort in but I feel you worry too much. Just relax and enjoy yourself. Regards. |

| Being the egg season brings to mind the complex nature regarding same.
Just considering the life cycle is a wonderous thing.
So complex as to be beyond our understanding.
Heard numerous different events concerning same.
Eggs put on one side and sometime later used as dummies have hatched.
Soft eggs without a shell, had one of the best handling pigeons and looker, a silver hen, laid only soft eggs.
When young there were eggs from Poland, (printed on the shell Poland) in red remember it well.
Put them under a broody and hatched Polish bantams, can picture them now with pom poms on their heads.
Anyone who thinks this could have come about by evolution is ???????.
Regards. .

Good neighbours are like gold if you have good ones etc Ray I suggest. Problem with my neighbours here is every year they actually keep sending xmas cards to my pigeon's type of thing . [/quote Over 40 years and never a problem, one good aspect have only two neighbours and none across the road. Same family next door for the whole time, on one side, got him to have a few pigeons, never a cross word. Other side for many years family with son who loved the old type wireless communications needing large areal on the roof said would I be annoyed relative to the pigeons,, said probably help them home from races do what you want within reason. When they left some friends took the house over and no problems. According to many fanciers been very lucky. Regards.. |

| yes it must be bad for those who have neighbors who complain over the pigeons, ive been lucky , no one has ever complained.......but then again i havnt let them out for years, so they havnt got much to complain about really . my brother got reported for his pigeons a while ago, turns out it was neighbors .....he has had them there for 40 years but suddenly they are a problem, last i heard he was only keeping 6 as pets and re homing around 16,,, not sure what happened, but i think i`d have been inclined to tell them to fk off ............ |
