Ambition in sport

don't know when we got a phone do know we did not have one in 1981 remember first rented tv and in first house outside toilet and coal fire the person who brought the coal was in 50s smallest man in the world 

first house on the left beside us granddad had a tinsmiths shop  he was busy

this was 1950   73 years ago   i'm on the left 2nd row up beside few young girls boys all in shorts

yes David married a English girl had a family when he would come with the coal dad and him would have a chat but mum was not keen on him

in the cinema he would stand on the seat and you could still  see over him his name was Davey Jones one of his jokes was he would run  between your legs then tell you to run between his you got your milk even if  lorry could not get out

went to Blackpool show one year he was selling pigeons someone stole one

i went in 2012 and saw him there selling young birds, i didnt introduce my self but i did stop at his stall and look .

Gary Burgess, great person and good friends with Steve and Kevin Whitney

Yes David he did have a stall which I visited when I introduced myself we had a rite old natter, had some nice pigeons on offer and at a realistic price for the working man

Gary is on face book but don't think he has anything to do with the pigeon sport now

Really I know in many ways Colin unfortunate as it is in certain ways, certain folk these days don't have a choice etc with where they actually live for enjoyment. But just not my cup of tea I'm if being quite honest. So will just stick with my valley of trees here for a view, even if they are all burning unfortunately now out of control over the next hill down here type thing at the moment    .

Brilliant type photos by my way of thinking also Life may have been hard I suggest Misty but even so a much happier time on average for most folk, to what life in general now has turned into  unfortunately today somehow I suspect.

this wall was build in Oxford to separate the middle class from the working class i think they were taking it down in this photo

there were more pigeon fanciers than cars

loved the wall george, especially liked the metal spikes on top to keep the riff raff out .

yes we all need separating from them middle class liberals eh
