| Very nice George used them years ago, could get different sizes.
Soon learned what goes in them is more important.
Regards. |

Just had a look in the old greenhouse in corner of the back garden never been in it for ages more important things t o do. Found several old drinkers, two like the ones you say David all white plastic but think the stays are metal coated with plastic by the feel of them and two with metal, galvanized frame with plastic blue top. Always got everything from Body and Ridewood, Bill Body was in our club and also a friend, he always did very well from Lerwick and gave me a red cock that scored from 500 odd miles South. His best pigeons were little dark ones you would not give a second glance on looks. Learned long ago tap water ever day not a good thing, green is not to be sneered at depending on what it is. | Always thought the most important thing was that they could easily get to the water, and never had any trouble, funny thing cannot remember what I used in the early 40s as a kid but never had the health problems of today.
Nice looking pigeon George.
Regards.

| Would only be any good in a section with one pair in.
As I try to remember way back I do not think we covered the drinkers and used all kind of things.
Do not think it matters as long as the pigeons can drink when they want without hinderance and the water is not contaminated.
Regards.

Think access the problem George not the quantity of water. If you feed the pigeons at regular intervals they all will want to drink at the same time. I had four drinkers in the loft all the time. Regards. |

Too awkward to get a drink George both getting head in and getting head out to get a drink, bad design. Regards. |

| because its dark inside that type of drinker, birds feel vulnerable sticking their heads in, they can't see what's going on around them. The red and white one with the pigeon standing by it is much better |

The red and white one should be on the ground George not as it is. When a pigeon drinks it dips down would not be able to do so as it is. Would maybe get a drink but be very uncomfortable for it. Regards. |

| The bottom of the drinker George should be on a level of the pigeons feet.
Just imagine the pigeon in the picture attempting to get a drink from the drinker.

| i have my drinkers off the floor, i stand them on the plastic nest box grills, just that little half inch lets air circulate under the drinker in case any water gets splashed out, it dries out with less chance of disease ........damp areas isnt good . |

I had sand and live lime deep litter, the same for many years, even changed from one loft to another, everything even the droppings dried out immediately. Built up immunity in the pigeons and killed all the nasties, pigeons droppings are the most helpful in keeping pigeons in good order and free from the normal present day health worries, does not happen over night. Look at nature. pigeons were bred to eat at one time and the different buildings they were kept in never cleaned out for years. Seen in churches etc; ft deep droppings pigeons as fit as lops. Said in the 1970s clinical lofts mean trouble. Regards. |
