Ian yes I do get satisfaction from my mates winning with my birds, and its nice to get the birds tested somewhere eles, thats why I like the exchange.... it just goes to show when you give a baby away you cant tell what its going to be like, I remember giving one dark chequer and as I picked up the youngsters I chose what I thought was the nicer of the 2 and gave the other nest mate away, in one race my mate was 1st and I was 2nd, and you guessed it, it was the nest pair, but he had the winner. I think he just managed to get the best out of the bird and I didnt, I think even if he had had the other youngster he would still have been first.
I think this is where it comes down to the fancier, He is a good fancier and has always been a winner in this area so he knows what hes doing.

totally agree martyn its down to the fancier getting them right but you still have to have decent birds

i would anyone any of my birds , you could take your pick, i would like to see if anybody else could win with my birds with different methods . i have given birds away plenty of times but these people have,nt even tried hard enough which we all know you must do if you want to win, these people probably call my birds saying they are rubbish but i know how hard you have to work to win with my own birds and i know these people are only half hearted and have no chance

thats very true ian, but not against your own birds.............

i would want to race against my own birds to see if other people can beat me with their methods

that right if other people in your club or fed are winning with your birds and your not then you know your doing something wrong

you two must be one offs, you wouldnt survive with these bunch of backstabbing scavingers down here.............

David are you afraid of other pepole betting you with your birds it would show you at least your birds can fly
you where saying in your club they would not give you a bird you dont have to be the same as them the world is round let your birds go round it shows you if they can fly them you should be able to fly them as well I no what you are saying but you have to chang thats why the clubs are getting less and less

no ginger thats not what im saying, i would breed anyone on the site ybs but i wouldnt race against my own birds in the same club.............whats the point in that ? ok i understand what your saying re someone winning with your birds but thats totally irrelevant when its someone in the same club, i think you lot have led a very sheltered cosy life or alternatively have some equaly minded club members who would also give you birds......

ian, im not on about new starters........im a new starter and never asked anyone for anything because i know people of old

last time i raced pigeons ian some "kind" fancier broke into my loft and killed my birds because we were winning..............

god david they must be a nasty lot in your club , i thought ians club was bad lol

ray, you get them all over the country who do things like that dont you.........and as you all know the members of most of the clubs are like old women gossiping and backstabbing and sometimes spoiling it for the genuine fancier who just wants to race his birds.........

Quiet a few years ago someone tuck some of my birds but unfortuneatly he couldnt see his birds for a fortnight as the doctor wouldnt let him out the hospital you can come to my loft any time you like there is no locks on the doors

it was alex, imagine going down to your loft and finding the doors been forced open and dead pigeons all over the place, some with no heads on and others in the water fountain in bits..........

There are some sick people about Cant imagine what you thought when you saw them like that... Did you ever find out who did it?

no alex, very rare you will find out............but obviously a person/s who didnt like us doing well with them.

Yes David, suppose sometimes they get others to do it? All I hope is it never happens to me...
