If you have the race sheets make a note of the winning pigeons and then see if they are in the sale if not forget buying anything

joking apart tho, its expensive starting up with pigeons again.....and if you want a good foundation to build on you usually have to buy the best dont you ? unless sometimes you can get good birds given to you.

david iam sure that members on here will give you good birds if you ask too much money starting off

yes ian ive heard of new starters being given birds which turn out to be good ones, and your right you dont sometimes have to pay a fortune for good ones either.......some new starters arent so lucky and if they want to have a good base to start from they will have to fork out good money for them but as you say, if there was one of our members wanting new stock or if we had a new starter there would be enough of us willing to let them have some birds im sure........

i myself had to pay hundreds of pounds to by some stock birds as i either didnt ask anyone for birds or the fanciers who offered didnt to be honest have the good winning blood worth using to start a team with, but even so i would still be happy to give a new starter some ybs if they wanted some........

yes ian, if i were to breed someone ybs and they won with them it would be as good as winning myself so id be happy to give someone ybs to start up with....

there is still don, although i think there is far too much "pigeon politics"(?) involved with pigeons sometimes.....too much back stabbing and argueing.

i just use sand that i griddle through every day also,it takes me 1 and a half hours to clean my birds each day

i use sand during race season dont like to disturb them much in the closed season

I still like to go in and clean out, talk to the birds as im doing it, if anyone could hear they would have me committed LOl
