ive found that most of my hens are pretty tame anyway, its the cocks that arnt....when i put my hand in the nest the hen will give a little peck and push my hand away and not be scared of me at all, but if i did it with the cocks some of them would jump off the eggs and fly out of the box....thats not good is it, especially when widowhood cocks should be protective of the box...i know ive not raced them yet but it doesnt look good if im wanting them to fly w/hood....

niel i always give the same feed all the time i once changed there feed to a different brand because i was low and the brand i used was not in stock , my pigeons droppings changed from being perfect to runny so i tend not to change my feed but i do add different seeds now and then

true ian, with me only having a few birds i buy one sack at a time and during the 08 season more times than not when i went to buy corn it was different.....and as ian said it played havoc with my birds, the droppings altered, they didnt want to fly and all sorts of minor things. i think the top racing men and the ones who can afford to will buy in the corn to last them the full season, and when i start racing i will buy a few bags at a time to try make sure im not chopping and changing all the time...
